A solid American black walnut & maple jewelry box, completely handmade and using recycled wood. The walnut is from a tree in our neighborhood taken out by the city and the city forester was good enough to allow me to salvage sections as they took it out. The maple is from cut-offs from a local wood shop. And the fabric is from the Boise Reuse Market, where they recycle fabric remnants. The fabric insert in the top is wrapped around padding and there is a removable dark micro-suede fabric insert in the bottom of the box to cushion anything placed inside. The hardwood is hand sanded and finished with a clear ecofriendly waterbased polyurethane.
